阻火器是應用火焰通過熱導體的狹小孔隙時,由于熱量損失而熄滅的原理設計制造。阻火器的阻火層結構有礫石型、金屬絲網(wǎng)型或波紋型。適用于可燃氣體管道，如汽油、煤油、輕柴油、苯、甲苯、原油等油品的儲罐或火炬系統(tǒng)、氣體凈化通化系統(tǒng)、氣體分析系統(tǒng)、煤礦瓦斯排放系統(tǒng)、加熱爐燃料氣的管網(wǎng)上、也可用在乙炔、氧氣、氮氣、天然氣的管道用品。本閥可與呼吸閥配套使用，亦可單獨使用。本類閥門在管道中一般應當按照工況正確安裝。
